
OPM legend Rico J. Puno passed away this morning, October 30, at the age of 65.
The news was confirmed by his sister-in-law and concert producer Anna Puno in an Instagram post. She did not disclose the cause of his death.
In 2005, Rico underwent triple heart bypass surgery.
He was supposed to return to the concert stage via "Sana Tatlo ang Puso Ko" with comediennes Giselle Sanchez and Marissa Sanchez on November 23 at The Theater, Solaire Resort and Casino.
Rico started his music career in the '70s. He popularized the iconic songs such "Macho Gwapito," "May Bukas Pa," "Sorry Na Puwede Ba," and "Magkasuyo Buong Gabi."
