
Samantha Newark, the original voice actress for animated series 'Jem' has made a public service announcement (PSA) about the coronavirus based on the beloved cartoon.
The PSA was created using old archived footage from 'Jem' edited with brand new recorded voice work from Newark.
The short video shows Jem explaining to children that there are no proven vaccines or medications that can cure COVID-19 at the moment, but they can prevent infection by practicing social distancing and proper handwashing.

Newark also hopes to work with screenwriter Christy Marx, who worked on the original 'Jem' series, to make another PSA regarding COVID-19.
"Hopefully we can get @christy.marx on board for a second PSA fingers crossed," she said.
'Jem' is an animated series which centers on Jerrica Benton, the young owner of Starlight Music, and her musical alter ego Jem.
Newark provided the speaking voice for Jem and Jerrica while singer Britta Phillips provided Jem's singing voice.
