Gusto rin daw magbigay-pugay ni Direk Joey sa serbisyo at pagmamahal na ibinibigay ng mga kasambahay sa pamilyang kanilang pinagsisilbihan.
Isang Facebook message ang nag-udyok kay Jose Javier Reyes o Direk Joey na isulat ang ‘Our Mighty Yaya.' Siya rin ang nagsilbing direktor ng Mother’s Day offering ng Regal Entertainment.
Ayon sa award-winning director, pinadalhan daw siya ng message ng isang babaeng hindi niya kilala.
“Sabi ‘Do you remember Teresa? Dati niyo raw po siyang labandera.’ Sabi ko ‘Ah, oo. How is she?’ Sabi niya, ‘Ako yung apo ni Teresa,’” kuwento niya.
Napapanood daw ni Teresa si Direk Joey sa TV dahil nagsilbing judge ito sa isang reality show noon.
“Ang sabi [nung apo niya] she was dying [and] after all these years, she just wanted to see me for the last time kasi she appreciated me nung bata ako. 'Yun lang. She wanted to see me so I’ve come to realize na sometimes we take our kasambahays for granted... Minamahal nila tayo 'di ba? And it made me realize that we really do not give importance [to them],” dagdag ni Direk Joey.
Idiniin niya rin na ang mga kasambahay ay nagiging mahalagang parte ng isang tahanan.
“Look at the Yaya Binay of Judy Ann [Santos], Yaya Luring of Sharon [Cuneta]. They’re their second mothers. And it’s not the salary that matters. It’s the love and attention. So that’s what inspired me,” aniya.
Para sa kanya, ito ay tungkol sa lahat ng mga kasambahay na nagsasakripisyo para sa kani-kanilang mga pamilya at napapalapit sa pamilyang kanilang pinagsisilbihan.
“I [want to] do a movie that pays tribute to these people who we think are just there because of the salary. It’s about the love they give to the people they live with… Our Mighty Yaya [is about the] men and women who sacrifice [and] give love to other families’ children for them to sustain their own families,” pagtatapos niya.
Lalabas ang 'Our Mighty Yaya' sa mga sinehan nationwide simula May 10.
