Big 7 Travel has ranked Palawan and Boracay 8th and 18th, respectively, alongside some of the world's most stunning destination places.
Interestingly, the two local spots emerged on top of perennial favorites such as Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Venice, Italy, The Dead Sea in Jordan, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Marrakesh in Morocco, and Paris, France, among others.
“Tranquil beaches, casual nightlife, and lush tropical scenery make it easy to see why,” the article said about Boracay.
Palawan, meanwhile, was described as “a fantastic triple threat of diverse wildlife, pristine landscapes, and subterranean marvels.”
The list was derived after gathering Pinterest data, most liked pictures on the website's Instagram account, and recommendations from readers and the publication's editorial team.
Palawan and Boracay are slowly starting to get up on their feet after months of tourist inactivity due to COVID-19.
Boracay, has started welcoming local visitors last month.
Palawan, particularly El Nido, has reopened on October 30, with other nearby municipalities still assessing their preparedness to accept outsiders without risking the health and safety of the entire province.
