Versatile TV and movie actor Paolo Contis shared one of the exciting things that will be happening in the big relaunch of the multi-awarded gag show Bubble Gang on May 27.
During the grand media conference of the show held last May 13 with the members of the entertainment press, the star-studded cast of the Kapuso comedy show shared there would be new segments and new faces that will excite Kababol viewers even more.
Paolo told in his interview with GMA News Online that there will be more socially relevant sketches featured in Bubble Gang in the coming weeks. “I think 'yung inspiration namin sa mga materials is 'yung talagang, tama 'yung sinabi ni Kuya Bitoy kung ano 'yung socially relevant ngayon.
Paolo added, “ I believe mas magiging aggressive ang Bubble Gang sa mga socially relevant na mga sketch ngayon. Kasi nga feeling ko nga kailangan, sa seryoso ng mga tao ngayon, ang seryoso ng buhay ngayon. Kailangan medyo matawa tayo ng konti."
The long-time Kababol also noted that they have to be more careful about their gags and segments in order not to offend anyone.
“Compared before, mas kailangan lang mas maingat ngayon. Kasi mas balat sibuyas 'yung mga tao ngayon. At the end of the day, we just wanna make [people] laugh, we don't want to offend anyone. Ang Bubble Gang po ay gusto lang po namin magpasaya, if we offend sometimes hindi po namin ito sinasadya.”
Meanwhile, Bubble Gang pioneer and creative director Michael V. stated in his interview with showbiz reporter Jimpy Anarcon why it's important for GMA-7's flagship gag show to do this relaunch.
Michael V said, “It's inevitable naman, lahat naman dinamdam 'yung pandemic, e. It's a celebration as well, hindi naman namin sinasabi tapos na ang pandemic, pero we have more freedom right now na gawin 'yung mga dating ginagawa, albeit mas cautious na kami ngayon."
He added, “I think 'yung pagpapalit ng cast at saka 'yung paglalagay ng bagong segments ito na 'yung much needed improvement doon sa show. Hindi kasi puwede maging stagnant 'yung Bubble Gang. It has to grow, it has to expand.”
