Showbiz Central’s Raymond Gutierrez got to chat with JC De Vera about his current projects, his leading ladies and, of course the inevitable topic—whom among them piques his interest nowadays. Raymond, not to beat around the bush, immediately got to ask JC about his relationship with his Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita co-star Yasmien Kurdi. "Masasabi ko na hindi lang kami friends, alam mo 'yun parang may special something" was JC's revelation. But when Raymond asked, "Kayo na ba?" "Hindi," JC replied. "Somewhere in between, you’re definitely getting closer to each other?" Richard then further queried. "Question mark yan sa lahat. We’re not friends, we’re more than friends—o, bago ‘yun!" JC quipped. But he clarified his special relationship with Yasmien: "Oo, lalong-lalo na pag dating sa work, ahhh, sobrang kumportable na namin sa isa't eh. Kaya pagdating talaga sa work, ano na, kumbaga hindi na kami nahihiya sa isa't-isa. Mas madaling magtrabaho, mas madaling umarte pag ka-eksena ko siya. So alam ko same thing din sa kanya, ganun din 'yung nararamdaman niya sa akin." Projects with Yasmien When his upcoming movie with Yasmien, Loving You, was mentioned, JC sounded enthusiastic. "First movie together! Iba ito, iba ‘to sa mga ginagawa namin. Meron kaming kissing scene na one minute. Mahaba yun!" In regard to the two young stars’ much-talked about beach scenes, JC explains that it is all part of them progressing in their craft. "Oo, kami [‘yun]. Hindi naman daring talaga. Pero, ‘yun nga, nag-eexplore lang din kami. Tingan namin kung kaya namin mag-topless or [kay Yasmien] mag two-piece," he explains. Raymond then noted that his closeness with Yasmien became strained when she reportedly became jealous of his My Monster Mom co-star and ex-girlfirend Michelle Madrigal. JC and Michelle had a kissing scene in the said movie. "Hindi naman. Kumbaga, alam niya, alam naman niya sa akin na work lang lahat talaga. Kasi, ahhh, naririnig ko kasi, parang pinag-aaway ba sila, parang ganun. Pero, nakausap ko naman si Yasmein, sabi niya hindi naman daw. Kumbaga happy lang siya para sa akin na at least hindi ako nasa-stuck sa isang partner, at least hindi ako nasa-stuck sa isang love team. Na nakaka-ikot ako sa mga ibang leading lady," JC elaborates. On his past and his future About Michelle, JC says that they still keep in touch because he acknowledges the special relationship they had before: "Oo, madami [kaming pinagsamahan], [pero] three years, three years [na] kaming hindi nagkasama. Nag-uusap kami. Hindi ko naman masasabi na close kami tulad ng dati, pero ngayon at least kampante na ako na katrabaho siya. Okey na kami." Also, JC has a project in the making with Rhian Ramos in La Lola, a remake of an Argentine soap. "Ah, yes, totoo yun. Nakatrabaho ko ng ilang beses si Rhian and I think magkakasundo kami. And, well, magaling din naman si Rhian. Magaling siya, 'yun nga lang hindi ko pa nasusubukan talaga sa isang show na kami magpartner, so hindi ko alam kung anong adjustments pa ang kailangan gawin," JC says. A blossoming relationship When asked about how Yasmien was taking the fact that there seemed to be no other projects lined up for both of them after Loving You and the possibility that they would not be paired for a while, JC explains: "Hindi siya nagsasabi sa akin ng mga basta tungkol sa ganun. Pero mararamdaman mo sa kilos niya na nalulungkot siya, na medyo depressed siya, every time na maririnig niya na 'O, si JC partner ni Rhian, ganyan-ganyan, hindi na kayo magkasama.' Well, hindi siya nagsasalita, hindi siya nagre-react tungkol dun, ayaw niya magreact, kasi nga, eh siyempre maraming issues na lalabas. Ayaw niyang palakihin. So mas maganda hindi na lang siya magsalita." "Sino ba ang babae pinaka-malapit sa puso mo? Maraming nagtatanong niyan," Richard asked. "Naku, marami eh," JC joked. "Ahhh, ngayon, wala naman akong ibang nakakasama eh, si Yas pa rin. Kaya, siguro siya [ang] pinaka-malapit sa puso ko."
