Patrick Garcia's alarm buttons went off the moment girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado confided she was going to do a sexy pictorial for FHM.
Patrick Garcia's alarm buttons went off the moment girlfriend
Jennylyn Mercado confided that she'd do a sexy pictorial for FHM.
The pictorial took place last November 29 and rumor has it that Patrick was against Jennylyn's decision, thus his no-show during the shoot.
"Yon yung may nangyayari sa [Manila] Peninsula [hotel in Makati]," explained Jen initially on behalf of her boyfriend. She meant the standoff instigated by Senator Antonio Trillanes and some of his supporters in a coup attempt that day.
Patrick got stuck in the long traffic jam caused by the Manila Pen incident. "Noong time na ‘yon, nandoon na siya sa Mandaluyong," Jen explained further. "Papunta na siya sa pictorial para mag-visit. Hindi na siya nakarating kasi sobrang traffic."
ALARMED BF. Like any boyfriend, the young actor at first was worried about Jen's pictorial. "But Jen assured me na ‘you know me' sabi niya sa akin na ‘hindi ako papayag na ganito susuutin ko.' So happy na lang ako na maraming naiinggit sa akin," said Patrick to GMA News in a taped interview.

Jennylyn recalled Patrick's response the moment she told him about the shoot. "Parang 'teka lang ha, anong isusuot?'" For the
StarStruck luminary, Patrick's reservation was understandable.
"Siyempre, girlfriend mo, ayaw mo ding mabastos," she said. "Gusto niya ‘yong irerespeto pa rin ako ng mga tao."
FROM REAL TO REEL. By now, word is out that GMA-7 has decided to bring the couple's romance to the screen as well.
Last Wednesday, December 12, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) confirmed the network's plan to do a TV remake of the 1987 Lino Broka opus,
Maging Akin Ka Lamang.
The movie version was topbilled by Lorna Tolentino, Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, and the late Jay Ilagan. For its TV version, the Kapuso network tapped the services of
Isabel Oli, Carlo Aquino, Jennylyn Mercado, and Patrick Garcia.
Doing a remake of a masterpiece is tough enough, more so for Patrick and Jennylyn as they also have to think of the pairing and its commercial viability.
"Kinakabahan kami pareho," Jen confessed with Patrick beside her, "kasi ‘yon nga, tanggap ba ng public? Susuportahan ba ‘yong love team?"
Patrick expressed mixed feelings about their new role. "I'm happy but nervous also." --
