Despite the challenges, Barangay Ginebra veteran LA Tenorio is still in high spirits that he will be healed after being diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.
In an Instagram update last week, LA was at the Mt Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, based on the tagged location of his post.
“Almost there," he wrote on its caption. “Maraming Maraming salamat sa lahat ng inyong mga dasal . Sa lahat ng pamilya at mga kaibigan ko.. at higit sa lahat sa inyong lahat na kahit hindi ko nakikilala personal na walang sawa nagdarasal para sa akin.. From the bottom of my heart maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. Ramdam ko po ang pagmamahal ninyong lahat!
“Konting tiis na lang at sa patuloy na pagdarasal natin lahat alam ko malalampasan ko ito. Maraming salamat sainyong lahat! #NSD #RoadToRecovery #Laban.”
According to the information from mayoclinic.org, colon cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the large intestine (colon).
The medical website further elaborated that colon cancer typically affects older adults, though it can happen at any age. It usually begins as small, noncancerous (benign) clumps of cells called polyps that form on the inside of the colon. Over time some of these polyps can become colon cancers.
In a separate post last Sunday, July 16, LA opened about his realizations, when he visited the holy place of Our Lady of Lourdes in France.
“I'm writing this post from the sacred grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes, France, a place filled with deep spiritual energy and miraculous stories. As I stand here, in the midst of my battle, I wanted to share a personal reflection on faith, healing, and hope.”
“In this place of pilgrimage, where countless seekers have found solace and renewal, I feel a profound connection to the power of God's healing presence.
“It's a reminder that even in the face of adversity, miracles are possible. Throughout my journey, your love, prayers, and support have been my guiding light. I am grateful beyond words.”
Several celebrities also showed their support to LA on Instagram, while he is on the road to recovery including iBilib host Chris Tiu, host Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, and former Gilas Pilipinas member Jimmy Alapag.
