Get ready to see Japanese girl group Phantom Siita in Manila this January 18.

Phantom Siita is coming to Man

The Japanese all-girl group comprises Mona, Miu, Rinka, Hisui, and Moka.

Phantom Siita was formed in November 2023 with the five members selected from over 4,000 people through an audition held by Japanese singer-songwriter Ado with her agency, Cloud Nine.

They debuted on June 26, 2024, with their first digital single "Otomodachi" and are known for their retro-horror theme.

Phantom Siita is scheduled to perform in Samsung Hall, SM Aura on January 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available through the SM Tickets website.

The members have talked about their experience debuting as a retro-horror group in an interview with GMANetwork.com

Mona said, "Starting from the audition and after the members were chosen, we have been very busy releasing songs, shooting music videos, performing on TV and more. Through those amazing experiences and meeting our fans and receiving their love and support, I feel like we have concluded the 1st chapter of Phantom Siita with our first headlining Budokan show in November. It has only been 6 months since the debut but it was a very rich and meaningful 6 months and I think we were able to grow a lot as a group."

Miu also explained what retro-horror truly means, "When we signed up for the audition, the concept of retro-horror was already mentioned. The context of horror there is not like ghosts or anything like that…"

Mona interjected, "Right. It's not like ghost scary but it is the dark side of humans that you see in their nostalgia and beauty. It is the feel of chills going down your spine. That is what we call “retro-horror.”

"Our retro aspect is being inspired by idols of the Showa era. Nostalgic yet new is what we aim to express."

Hisui shared how she wants their group to be perceived, "When people hear the name “Phantom Siita, “ I want people to think of us as a genre of its own. That is how far I want to explore the concept of retro-horror.

Becoming idols in Japan has been life-changing to say the least for the girls, who are now on their first world tour titled Moth to a Flame.

"It has always been my dream to perform on TV and do a show in Budokan and those dreams came true in the past 6 months. We experienced so many new things and my life has changed completely," Moka said.

Rinka added, "We are preparing a very different setlist from our Budokan show so we are practicing choreography and vocal performance everyday."

She also described how the group feels about visiting the Philippines, "Our visit to the Philippines will be in January which is the middle of winter in Japan but [the] Philippines is warm so it makes me feel good to be able to feel summer in wintertime. My English teacher at school is from the Philippines and they are very kind and warm so I am looking forward to getting to know the people there. I also want to eat a lot of Philippine bananas so I'm looking forward to that as well."

The girls also gave a glimpse of what fans can expect from their Manila concert.

"I think you can say that our shows are kind of theatrical. We dominate and take over the song as we really get into our performance. So we hope to bring you deep into the world of Phantom Siita with us and immerse the entire venue with our colors. I hope you let your guard down and dive in," Mona shared.
