After more than 10 years of sharing real-life stories of celebrities and inspiring individuals, Kapuso program Tunay na Buhay finally bid its viewers farewell on Wednesday, January 12.
For its final episode, its former host and most recent host, Rhea Santos and Pia Arcangel, reunited virtually to look back on the show's more than 10 years on TV.
According to Pia, she felt mixed emotions upon learning that she will be taking over as host of Tunay na Buhay back in 2019.
“Siyempre kinabahan din ako kasi siyempre minana kong 'tong show na 'to. So, kailangan pagbutihin ko, dahil alam ko na parang there were very high standards set before me and I wanted to live up to those standards,” Pia confessed. “So, magkahalong excitement at kaba 'yung naramdaman ko sa umpisa.”
She also spoke of the challenges that the pandemic brought to the show.
“Ang Tunay na Buhay is all about meeting people and interviewing them in settings where they're comfortable, tapos hindi namin magawa kasi very limited 'yung galaw, di ba?” Pia said.
“Very limited 'yung physical movement, very strict ang protocol, but somehow nagawa pa rin natin,” she added.

Rhea, on the other hand, who was the original host of the show for eight years, reflected on what makes Tunay na Buhay special.
“You have to have the courage, tapang ng loob, and bahala na, di ba?
The two Tunay na Buhay hosts also looked back on some of the most unforgettable stories they've shared on the program. Watch them relive those moments in the Tunay na Buhay video below.
