The beauty queen is appealing for more donations so they could help more people

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach gives an update on the progress of the fundraising campaign that she co-runs with fellow beauty queens.

As of yesterday, November 18, the Queen Tulungan fundraiser has gathered P269,455.02.

Pia shared the good news on Instagram, writing, “This will go [to] those affected by the recent typhoons in the Philippines. Chineck rin po naming ng maigi ang mga beneficiaries and all of them are doing on ground work. And of course we will keep you updated on the progress.”

Queen Tulungan was organized by Pia along with Miss Universe Philippines 2013 Ariella Arida, Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann, Binibining Pilipinas - Intercontinental 2015 Christi McGarry, and Community and Family Services International (CFSI) Executive Director, Steven Muncy.

The initiative has four humanitarian organizations as beneficiaries: the CFSI, Save the Children, Philippine Red Cross, and World Wildlife Fund.

The proceeds will go to those affected by recent typhoons in the country including Ulysses, which battered parts of Luzon last week.

“This fundraiser ends on Friday night [November 20] so if you can, please donate! Or kahit ishare nyo nalang po yung pubmat [publication material] namin malaking tulong narin po yun,” she wrote.

“Again we will keep things transparent and will be posting updates on our Queendom facebook group.”

Queen Tulungan is just one of the many initiatives organized by celebrities in the wake of the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses, leaving thousands of people evacuated and homeless, and causing billions in damages.
