The new wave of hate comments on Pia Wurtzbach stems from her statement about Jennifer Laude's case.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach isn't planning on giving her haters what they fancy--a reaction.

In a tweet on Tuesday, September 8, the Pinay beauty queen said that she is already accustomed to the bashing since she has been on the critics radar long before she joined the prestigious pageant five years ago.

She wrote, “Pagbukas ko ng Twitter ko nagdagsaan na naman ang 'yung mga bashers.

"Sanay na sanay na po ako sa ganito. Noon pa man ay bina-bash na 'ko, even before Miss U.

“I learned that you should never be afraid to speak your mind.”

The negative comment stemmed from her previous statement about the absolute pardon President Rodrigo Duterte granted to US Marine Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton before completing his prison term of six to 10 years.

Pemberton was convicted of homicide was for killing Filipino trans woman Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude in 2014.

Meanwhile, after the incident, Pia has repeatedly encouraged her followers to register and practice their right to vote on the presidential election in 2022.
