Steve, in turn, had something to tell the 2015 titleholder.

In a light moment that drew in cheers and laughter from the crowd, Pia Wurtzbach thanked Steve Harvey for a moment that happened over a year ago.

“Steve, I never got to thank you, but thank you for making me the most popular Miss Universe,” she said before hugging the American host who committed a mistake in declaring last year’s winner.

Steve, in turn, had something to tell the 2015 titleholder.

“That’s okay. I wanna thank you for making me the most famous host of Miss Universe,” he quipped.

During the beginning of the coronation, he expressed admiration for Pia and called her ‘the pride of the Philippines’ and a woman who ‘represents what the crown stands for.’

He also noted how the person she’ll be passing the crown to has big shoes to fill.
