Miss Universe 2015 and COVID-19 survivor Pia Wurtzbach uses her star power to encourage millions to get their COVID-19 vaccines.

After getting infected with the highly-contagious COVID-19, beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach ramps up her call for people to get COVID-19 shots and boosters. The surge continues across the globe as more people get infected with the virus.

Last Thursday (January 13), the Philippines registered a positivity rate of 45.7 percent , a record high. And the total number of COVID-19 cases has reached over 3.05 million since the pandemic began in March 2020.

Pia stressed the importance of the life-saving vaccine against the coronavirus disease.

She posted on Instagram, “16 days now since I got covid and although I'm already negative. I'm still managing some symptoms. Now I know some of you are thinking..

Or Worse.”

The former Miss Universe titlist added, “Kaya napaka-importante talaga na magpabakuna. If you are reading this and you haven't yet, please don't delay.

Iri-risk mo buhay mo?”

Before ending her post, Pia also reminded everyone that by getting vaccinated and boosted, we are also helping our medical frontliners, who are overworked treating people with severe cases.

“Yes even with the vaccine you can still get COVID. BUT you have a better chance of fighting it.

This week alone, several celebrities confirmed that they got infected with the dreaded virus including Pokwang, Hidilyn Diaz, and Miriam Quiambao.
