Pinoy athletes have accumulated more than PhP 300,000 fund for procurement of medical supplies.
Some of the country's biggest volleyball stars have joined in the fight against 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with a unique donation drive for health workers and other frontliners.
Spearheaded by Creamline Cool Smashers and former Ateneo Lady Eagles setter Jia Morado, the players have pledged their commitment in doing her part in helping the frontliners battling against COVID-19 in the Philippines, through the use of their jersey uniforms.
Jia on Wednesday put her game-worn Ateneo jersey up for bidding for a starting value of PhP 1,200.
“In order to help those who have sacrificed so much to ensure the safety of our countrymen, I will be auctioning one of the most memorable jerseys I have,” posted Jia on Twitter.
Added to the list of athletes who have joined the cause were former Ateneo Lady Eagles' libero Dennise Lazaro, Creamline Cool Smashers' libero Kyla Atienza, De La Salle Lady Spikers' Mich Morente, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde's Jeanette Panaga, former Adamson Soaring Lady Falcons' captain Jema Galanza, former De La Salle Lady Spikers' hitter Des Cheng, Creamline Cool Smashers' Pau Soriano, and former De La Salle University Lady Spikers' captain Ara Galang.
Each jersey stands up for a starting value of P1,200.

On Monday, they announced that they have raised more than PhP 300,000. A portion of it was already used for the procurement of medical supplies such as personal protective equipment (PPE), N95 masks, and surgical gloves for frontliners who continue to serve the country with utmost dedication.
Those who want to participate in the auction can go to Every Little Thing Counts Facebook page to place their bids.
