
Gymnastics gained significant attention in the Philippines, thanks to the inspiring success of two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo. His achievements have motivated a new generation of young gymnasts to aim higher and pursue their dreams in the sport.
A standout moment came at the 3rd JRC Artistic Gymnastics Stars Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, where a talented group of young Filipino gymnasts followed in Carlos' footsteps and brought home a total of 34 prestigious medals.
Among the top performers was Carlos' younger brother, Karl Jahrel Eldrew Yulo. He won three gold medals in Floor Exercise, Still Rings, and Vault Event Finals, along with a gold in the Individual All-Around. Karl also amazingly earned two silver medals in the Parallel Bars and Team Events.
Joining him in success was King Cjay Pernia from Club Gymnastica Pasig Inc., who won a bronze medal in the Vault Event during the Apparatus Finals. Jacob Maceson Alvarez achieved an impressive sweep, winning five gold medals and two silver medals across all events.
In addition to the list of triumphs, several young Filipino gymnasts also shone in the Australian Level Competitions.
In the MAG Australian Level 3, Andrei De Leon earned two golds and a bronze, while Prince Khenjie Sumabal secured two golds and two silvers.
Chelsea Lynn Hong claimed three gold medals, Sophia Dennise Flores won silver and bronze, and Aqeela Zafrina Perez took home two golds in the WAG Australian Level 2.
Meanwhile in WAG Australian Level 4, Ma. Elizabeth Medina won two golds and a silver, and Merion Antonette Domingo earned a silver. Sascha Amara Santos also claimed the bronze medal in the same category.
The WAG Australian Level 4 girls' team impressed with their outstanding teamwork and took home the gold medal in the team event. Meanwhile, the Philippines' MAG Junior Team earned a silver medal in the male team category.
