Singer-actress Marika Sasaki is grateful for all the opportunities that GMA Network has given her this year.
She was able to join the cast of Magkaibang Mundo, she is currently part of Hahamakin ang Lahat, and she is about to grace the Playlist stage.
“I love doing performances po talaga [kaya I am] sobrang thankful po. Seven years old pa lang po ako, talagang nangangarap na ako maging artista. GMA gave me a chance. Sobrang pangrap ko po ito, then ngayon nasa Playlist [pa] ako [kaya] na-si-speechless po talaga ako [sa saya],” she shared.
The Fil-Japanese performer is glad to be able to showcase what she has learned from and developed in Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman.
“[I was] from Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman… Sobrang thankful and blessed [to have been given that opportunity]. Alam ko po na nandito si Tatay [sa tabi ko], ginagabayan ako,” she added.
Though the late night show where she began her showbiz career has ended, she’s optimistic about where her career is heading.
“Sobrang paulit-ulit [ko] po [sasabihin] na [I’m] blessed. I’m blessed kasi sobrang daming talented, nangangarap na pumasok sa GMA at sa Playlist pero [isa ako sa napili to be part of it],” she said.
No matter what she gets to achieve, Marika vows to keep her feet on the ground. Humility is one of the values instilled in her by the late Kuya Germs.
“Hinding hindi ko po makakalimutan 'yung sinabi ni Tatay na laging maging mapagkumbaba, balikan ang pinagmulan, [huwag] itataas ang ulo. Anuman po ang na-achieve, it’s because of God [at 'yung mga] tao na sumusuporta,” she declared.
