James is set to perform Iniibig Kita, the theme from the drama show Marimar, on the Playlist stage soon.

Despite not having a firm grasp of the Filipino language, Fil-Aussie Kapuso singer James Wright tries to sing OPM songs with as much emotion as he can.

“I project. I try to translate it even though I don’t speak the language. I try to see what feelings I can muster out from [the song lyrics],” he said.

Set to perform the emotional song Iniibig Kita from Marimar on the Playlist stage, James couldn’t help but fall in love with Pinoy music more and more.

“Like that song, I [definitely] felt something there,” he added.

Since he’s delivering his own rendition, he will try to add a unique touch to it.

“I try to incorporate jazz into everything I sing… Like [in] this one… I’m trying to let people see that jazz is not dead and that it can still be used in modern music,” he shared.
