Muling pinatunayan ng GMA ang kanilang reputasyon na pagiging "Anime Authority" ng bansa matapos ianunsyo ni GMA Pictures President and GMA Programming Consultant to the Chairman and CEO Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes na ipapalabas din sa bagong news and general entertainment channel na GTV ang ilang classic anime shows.

Kabilang diyan ang mga minahal na anime noong '90s na Pokemon at Dragon Ball Z.

Ani Gozon-Valdes sa virtual mediacon ng GTV noong Biyernes, February 19, "We've lined-up the beloved animes that we have aired before on GMA, 'di ba GMA is known as the anime authority.

"So this will also trickle down to GTV, so for example, we're launching 'Pokemon' and 'Dragon Ball Z.' Those loved animes that we used to show years before on GMA, you'll also see them now on GTV."

Ibinahagi rin ng Kapuso executive na patuloy ang kanilang paghahanap ng iba pang anime titles na maaaring ipalabas sa GTV na swak sa panlasa ng bawat Pinoy, hindi lang ng mga batang manonod, kundi pati na rin ng mga young-at-heart.

Ang GTV ay ang bagong pangalan ng GMA News TV. Ang rebranded channel ay opisyal na ilulunsad sa Lunes, February 22.

Bukod sa anime at news and public affairs shows kung saan nakilala ang GMA News TV, nakatakda ring mapanood sa GTV ang drama shows, magazine/lifestyle shows, youth-oriented shows, game shows, at ang Philippine National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
