Pokwang shared laughter with family and friends in a block screening of 'Becky & Badette' at SM North EDSA Director's Club

Kapuso comedienne Pokwang, star of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie Becky & Badette, recently hosted a block screening for her film.

Pokwang plays the titular role Badette alongside Eugene Domingo, who plays Becky. The film won Best Original Theme Song for “Finggah Lickin” and the Gender Sensitivity Award in the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal.

To celebrate the success of Becky & Badette, Pokwang hosted an exclusive block screening at the SM North EDSA Director's Club. It was attended by her friends and the Sparkle family. Sparkle GMA Artist Center posted a few snaps from the screening on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Pokwang's friend and fellow comedienne, Kakai Bautista, recently shared a mini vlog of her enjoying and binge-watching MMFF films, including Becky & Badette.

She wrote in her mini review of the movie, “Ang ganda ng pagkakatahi-tahi ng bawat eksena. [Ang husay] ng mga pagganap!” and praised the movie's soundtrack that made her happy and feel light-hearted.

Kakai also noted how the film tackled real-life lessons about gender, friendship, and individuality.

Becky & Badette is an official entry to the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival written and directed by Jun Robles Lana and is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
