Let's state the facts: In the Philippines, you will never go hungry.
What we mean by that is, you can always find a ubiquitous food stall called the "carinderia" at every corner serving Filipinos' favorite lutong-bahay meals. It's already embedded in our culture.
And just like any store, carinderias have regular customers who frequent the place for their signature dishes and they come in varied forms: from students to young professionals, to jeepney and pedicab drivers.
In an episode of Pop Talk, Tonipet Gaba puts fancy restaurants to the side and visits two jeepney driver-recommended spots that are said to not only fit any man's budget but also keep their tastebuds wanting more.
Here we introduce these two carinderias for you to try. Bid goodbye to petsa de peligro days and say hello delicious meals all day, every day.
Location: 38 F. Castillo, Project 4, Quezon City
Price Range: PhP 23 to PhP 80
“Serving hundreds of satisfied customers daily,” is the motto of Danny-Licious, a hole in the wall restaurant located in Project 4 in Quezon City.
Danny-Licious offer a wide range of food offerings from viands like adobo, menudo, kilawin to grilled side dishes such as isaw and barbeque.
The only downside to Danny-Licious is that it's always full of customers, especially at lunchtime, so expect a long wait before eating your meal.
It's also not air-conditioned, so leave your blazers behind and wear comfortable clothes before paying them a visit.
Must-try: Barbeque, barbeque, barbeque!

From chicharon bulaklak to bulalo, who wouldn't fall for the charm of Bulaluhan sa Espana?
It's selling point lies in its signature hot bulalo meal that is good for two people and sells for less than PhP100.
It's hearty, it's meaty, and it's budget-friendly!
If you're coming from somewhere far, you can opt to bring your car with you because they have an allotted parking space for their dine-in customers.
Must-try: We hear sinigang na bulalo + inihaw na liempo is a good combo!
