Aminado si Concert Queen Pops Fernandez na minsan na niyang naisip na mag-retire bilang singer.

Mabuti na lamang daw ang muling nagsunud-sunod ang kanyang gigs. Kamakailan lang, naging matagumpay ang pagsasama-sama nila nina Jaya at Kuh Ledesma sa 3 Divas show sa Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino sa California, U.S.A.

“It's actually a blessing. God has been so good,” sabi ng dating Centerstage judge sa GMANetwork.com sa ginanap na pocket press conference para sa tatlong OPM divas kamakailan.

Kwento ni Pops, “Siyempre, mayroon pa rin kaming pinaplano individually. We're feeling very blessed to be able to perform constantly. Lalo na for me, matagal na rin kasi akong hindi nakakakanta. Lately, parang I have been given a chance one show after the others, so I really think it's a blessing.”

Pagkatapos nito, sabi niya, “In my mind kasi pwede na akong mag-retire.”

Agad naman nag-react sina Kuh at Jaya at sinabi kay Pops na, “Bawal!”

Paliwang ni Pops, “Kapag na-experience mo na kasi… No, really, when you feel again, when you're on stage again… Of course, you feel the energy of the audience, nakakaengganyo siya.

“I think I'm just very thankful na I'm given more chances to perform again. Not just perform, ha, talagang I get to perform with the best of the best. I mean, from The Hitmakers, now with Kuh and Jaya. So, yung 'again,' kasi nga medyo nawala ako nang matagal. Yun lang, I'm very grateful and thankful and I really feel blessed.”

Katulad ni Pops, minsan din daw dumaan sa isip ni Soul Diva Jaya ang mag-retire na bilang singer.

Pahayag niya, “There's been so many times na, siyempre, I doubted, 'Am I still capable of doing this? Will people still like me?' Kasi, for so long before I accepted Christ, I've always had this fight within myself, yung insecurities and all that.”

Ayon kay Jaya, malaking tulong ang renewed faith niya sa Panginoon.

“After that, parang hindi pala dapat ganun,” sabi niya. “When you're giving a talent, you use it as much as you can, for as long as you can, because it's something that might touch people and lead people to Christ.

“That's kind of how I do it now. Even if it's not on stage, I do testimonies a little bit. Parang statement lang then segue to a song.

“But I always think about the audience of one. I'm not really singing so much to please whoever is in front of me. Kasi, que gawin kong okay o hindi, they will always have something to say. So, it's more of, 'I'm singing for You. You brought me here, what can I do for You? How can I best serve You?' Ganun lagi ang goal ko.”

KEEPING UP WITH TECHNOLOGY

Samantala, isa pa sa ipinagpapasalamat ng tatlong OPM divas ang makabagong teknolohiya dahil naging daan ito para maging matagumpay ang kanilang nakaraang concert sa Amerika.

Bago kasi ito, tanging sina Kuh at Pops ang magkasamang nagre-rehearse dahil si Jaya ay nakabase na sa Amerika.

Ilang araw bago ang mismong concert, saka na lamang sila nakapag-rehearse nang magkakasama

“Thank God for technology,” sabi ni Pops.

“I mean, nowadays, we can be sending music from any part of the world. We kinda practiced on our own for the longest time. We already know our music. We already know… We already chose the songs, pero talagang we rehearsed individually, separately from each other.

“Nagkita na lang talaga kami, nag-blend na lang talaga kami noong physically together na kami. Technology is amazing in that aspect. We made some changes, but working with professionals made it really easy and really possible.”

Dagdag naman ni Jaya, “I think it's a plus when you get along with the people you work with kasi mas madali pumasok sa utak mo lahat yung dapat mong gawin. And then, yung rapport sa stage, given na you have a very little time to talk about anything, talagang labas na lang lahat. Pero ang galing lang ng mga pangyayari. I think you're right, Ms. Kuh, it's just something that God wanted to prove to us and put together. It was just amazing. Ang dali, napakadali lang.”

Dahil naging successful ang kanilang unang show, inaasahan na magkakaroon ito ng tour sa America sa susunod na taon. May plano rin na magkaroon ng 3 Divas concert dito sa Pilipinas.

Sabi ni Kuh tungkol sa kanilang plano, “And we're also three professional singers who really want to give the best to our audience. So, after the show, even before the show, we were saying, because we will have more time to prepare for the tour then. We would like to even make the show better, with more production numbers, mas bonggang mga outfit kasi, siyempre, ang title 'divas.' That's our plan. You know, we're all sanay to work hard and even give more to our performances.”
