Only one emerged as the country’s first Pinoy Pop Superstar but all who made it to the finals are winners as well.
Brenan Espartinez, Kristel Astor, Charmaine Piamonte, MC Monterola and Michael Garcia are now part of the Kapuso family after signing a management contract with GMA Network. They join Pinoy Pop Superstar champion Jonalyn Viray who has an exclusive contract under GMA Records as part of her prize. Among the signatories in the talent management contract were GMA Executive Vice President and COO Jimmy Duavit, Senior Vice President for Entertainment Wilma Galvante, and Ida Henares, head of GMA Artist Center. As more opportunities come their way, the lucky five are more than excited to step into the world of music and showbiz. “Thankful po talaga kami na naging part kami ng GMA. Ngayon na Kapuso na kami…masayang masaya po talaga kami,” said Charmaine who was obviously elated during the contract signing. Brenan further noted “Akala naming after nung finals hindi na kami magkikita kita,” Charmaine, MC, Michael and Kristel thought so too. Given the time spent with each other in the months approaching the grand finals, they have built friendship and camaraderie. Even program host Regine Velasquez has become their ardent supporter and mentor off camera, they added. Although only in their teens, Brenan, Kristel, MC, Charmaine and Michael have distinct singing styles that allow them to give a unique touch to R&B hits, ballads and contemporary tunes. Watch out for these singing sensations every Sunday in Pinoy Pop Superstar only in GMA!
