Alden Richards admits that he's been a long time fan of the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo tandem. "Forever fanboy ako nung team up [nila]."
Asia's Multimedia Star and The World Between Us lead actor Alden Richards expressed his desire to work with Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz in a project.
When Alden renewed his contract with GMA Network in October 2021, he was asked if he was open to star in a project with Bea and John Lloyd.
Back then, John Lloyd's possible project with GMA was still up in the air. It was only yesterday, November 9, John Lloyd and GMA Network finally inked a partnership. As for Bea, she officially became a Kapuso when she transferred in July 2021.
"Mas game pa po sa game," was Alden's fast and ready answer to the question thrown by the entertainment press at the time.
"Idol ko po 'yung dalawang 'yun, e. A few years back, parang there was a Christmas party, parehas po kasi kami ng styling team ni JLC at tsaka ni Bea, so nagkita kami doon."
"And parang sa buong buhay ko po ng pagiging artista, first-time ko po naging fanboy kasi sobra kong idol 'yung dalawang 'yun, e.
"And [if] given an opportunity to work with them in a project, let's go."
According to Alden, he was not yet an actor when he became a fan of the Bea-John Lloyd team-up. To this day, Alden is admittedly a huge fan.
"Hindi pa ako artista, sobrang idol ko na 'yung team-up ng John Lloyd-Bea, e.
"So talagang forever fanboy ako ng team-up na 'yun."
When John Lloyd officially returned to GMA, Alden was one of the many stars who prepared a video greeting for his "idol."
He said, "Hello, Idan. Congratulations and welcome to GMA! Congratulations sa lahat ng mga projects mo and sana, sana makatrabaho ko talaga 'yung idol ko soon.
"Ingat ka palagi Idan. Congratulations and welcome."
Unknown to many people, John Lloyd also wanted to work with Alden.
He said in an interview with Nelson Canlas in 24 Oras, "Ang tagal na naming naghahangad na magkaroon or magkatrabaho. And si Bea being here in GMA, and alam kong may mga ilang projects sila na naka-lineup, silang dalawa ni Alden, gusto kong makigulo doon."
Aside from The World Between Us, Alden is set to star with Bea Alonzo in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Japanese drama series Pure Soul, the same source material of the hit 2004 South Korean movie A Moment To Remember.
Alden and Bea's movie will be produced by Viva Films, GMA Pictures, and APT Entertainment.
