Iron rose to fame for his rapping and was a runner-up on a Korean television rap competition called Show Me The Money in 2014.
Over the course of his career, he faced several scandals such as getting arrested for allegedly assaulting his 18-year-old roommate with a baseball bat. The roommate was said to be Iron's student who was living with him to learn music.
Iron was also sentenced to eight months in prison back in 2018 for physically abusing his ex-girlfriend and he was also convicted for marijuana use.
After the news of Iron's death, his ex-girlfriend was reported to have posted a meme which shows an image of Nicole Kidman throwing her fists up in triumph after her divorce settlement.
Coincidentally, another Korean celebrity recently passed away, 26-year-old Korean actress Song Yu-jung due to unknown causes. She passed on January 23 but her death was announced to the public on January 25, ahead of Iron's death.
She had appeared in K-drama series Golden Rainbow, Make Your Wish, and Dear My Name. She had also appeared in commercials and music videos.
