Here are a few organic ways to lighten your armpits.

Having dark underarms can be caused by various reasons such as harsh deodorants, shaving, exfoliating your underarms, and hormonal fluctuations. The good news is that underarm lightening doesn't have to be an expensive, painful process.

According to Healthline.com and Eve Digital you can try these natural underarm whitening agents before trying chemical treatments.

1. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains mild acids that remove dead skin cells and lightens the underarm area. It also acts as a disinfectant, killing body-odor causing bacteria.

To use it as an underarm whitening agent, mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with two teaspoons baking soda and let the mixture bubble. Once the bubbles have decreased, apply the mixture on the underarm area and let it dry. Rinse with cold water. Repeat this thrice a week.

2. Potato

Potato is a natural bleach and anti-irritant. Using it for your underarms is quite easy. Just peel one small potato, grate it, then squeeze out the juice and apply directly on the armpits. Rinse off after 10-15 minutes, and repeat twice a day until desired results are obtained.

3. Olive oil with brown sugar

Olive oil is rich in antioxidants and is deeply hydrating and nourishing for the skin. The brown sugar acts as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells that have accumulated and made your underarm skin darker.

To use as for underarm whitening, mix two tablespoons of virgin olive oil and two tablespoons of brown sugar then dab apply onto your underarms and gently scrub for a minute or two. Leave on for five minutes then rinse with lukewarm water. Do this twice a week for best results

4. Lemon

Lemon is rich in Vitamin C which can act as a lightening agent. To use for your underarms, cut thick slices of lemon and rub against underarms. After 10 minutes, rinse your armpits with cool water, dry them, and apply moisturizer to avoid skin dryness.

5. Turmeric

Turmeric isn't just great for making tea, it also has whitening properties that you can use on your skin. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice with enough turmeric to make a paste. Apply the paste evenly to your armpits. After 30 minutes, wash the paste off.

There are many ways to effectively lighten dark underarms but with these helpful tips, you now know how to use affordable, safer, natural ingredients to lighten your underarms for more kili-kili confidence.
