There's nothing like a father-son relationship.

As a boy grows up, there will be many people who influence him and his development into adulthood but it is the father who will be his most important role model.

But for actor turned politician Alfred Vargas, it is his son Cristiano who has heavily influenced his life into becoming better.

In a post on Instagram, the former Magkaagaw actor celebrated his Cristiano's birthday with a lengthy but heartfelt letter on how his son has made him the “luckiest father in the world.”

He wrote, “Dear Cristiano,

“When you were born, I couldn't fathom the idea of finally having a son. You are a miracle come true! I'm the luckiest father in the world because of you. Thank God you were born. Thank you for bringing joy to our hearts.

“When times are tough, all it takes are thoughts of you to pull me through. Your presence nourishes my soul. Your smile reminds me, on a daily basis, that life is beautiful. That no matter what challenges I face, I know I can overcome them because I want you to grow up being with a father that is strong, dedicated, hardworking, loving, and God-fearing. I strive every day to become a better man because of you.”

The actor also wished nothing but the best for his son, to “chase your dreams, hunt adventures, discover our gifts and make sure to use them to make others happy and make this world a better place.”

Alfred ended the post by saying that he may not be forever with him but will always be a part of his son through and through.

“I will not be here forever but always remember, in my heart, there will always be a part of you. And in your heart, there will always be a part of me. You are my blood. You are Alfredo IV. You are MY SON.

“I'll always be proud of you and I'll do everything for you,” he concluded.
