Christopher de Leon believes the Philippines will get a back-to-back win at the Miss International 2017 pageant in Japan.

Christopher de Leon couldn't be any prouder of his daughter, Mariel de Leon, for representing the Philippines at Miss International 2017 in Japan.

'The most beautiful thing in this world is to see your parents smiling, and knowing that you're the reason behind that smile.' ?? Thank you for supporting me through whatever I want to pursue in life. Thank you for teaching me to always be kind, respectful, and hard working. And of course for always telling me to pray and to thank God for everything and everyone in my life. I am so blessed to have such loving, generous, and supportive parents. I love you, Nanay and Tatay!

The Miss International pageant is set to be held on November 14 and the veteran actor said that their family is planning to fly on the ninth to support Mariel.

In an interview, Boyet shared just how much fun her beauty queen daughter is having in Japan.

According to him, "She's having fun, nagpe-Facetime kami almost every day, she loves Japan and the nice thing about Japan and the pageant is that they're systematic, they're very disciplined, hindi 'yung kalat. They're learning a lot [such as] how to wear a kimono and how to do the tea ceremony. She's having a grand time."

Even though Mariel and the other Miss International 2017 hopefuls all look fabulous, Christopher admitted some of the hardships that they're experiencing just to prepare for the pageant.

"The problem is you know that they only sleep like three to four hours a day. Hectic! You finish at ten, you prepare for your outfit the next day, you take off whatever you put on, wake up early, prepare your hair, put your makeup on, that takes two hours already. And you have to be awake like three hours before kasi magbe-breakfast ka pa," he said.

Lastly, he called on the support of his fellow kababayans to pray for his daughter's success, "Of course, we need your support and a lot of prayers. Philippines will win again the Miss International Crown and [get a] back-to-back."
