In a lengthy post via Instagram last March 17, Gabbi talked about her fondest memories with Ate Merly who had been part of their family for over 12 years.

She posted, This is Ate Merly Tenoria. She was our Yaya when we were kids. Actually, even before that. My mom was still pregnant with me when we had her as our kasambahay. She was with us for more than 12 years. She took care of us, watched over us whenever our parents were working, accompanied me to my summer workshops, cooked GOOD TASTING food for us, she even lines up in Meralco just to pay our bill lol.”

Gabbi also considers Ate Merly her second mom.

“All around to the max. Name it hahaha. She was like our real life “Ate,” our second mom.”

The Studio 7 star admitted that it was heartbreaking for her when their kasambahay decided to leave them in 2010 to start her own family.

Thankfully with a little perseverance on searching her on Facebook, they were able to track her down and spend time with Ate Merly, who is now a proud mother.

“Through the years, we lost contact of each other. That's why we decided to look for her on social media. We've been searching for quite a while now, but thanks to Facebook, I finally found her!!!”

“We met up earlier with my family and her daughter. We were all soooo happy!!! Parang bumalik ang buong pagkabata namin ng kapatid ko. ️I'm just so thankful for Ate Merl because she took care of us when we were kids."

Gabbi also reminded everyone to take care and love our kasambahays as they play an important role in our lives.

“Please love your kasambahays. They are indeed part of the family.”
