No matter your reason for visiting, the city of London is truly one of the most beautiful destinations to visit when in the United Kingdom.
It's a city rich with culture and a history that has been preserved for centuries. With several historical landmarks and tourist attractions, you will never run out of amazing things to do.
Back from her short stint in London, we turn to Kapuso actress and singer Glaiza de Castro to share her must-see destinations in this bustling city.
According to Glaiza, the parks surrounding the city were her perfect place to unwind and gather a few inspirations for her next assignment.
“Ang saya kasi ang dami nilang parks that you can go to. So nung time na kailangan kong mag-isip for my assignments and when I need to compose songs, doon ako pumupunta.”
Her top pick: Victoria Park in East London.
“I live near Victoria Park, so minsan nilalakad ko lang siya.
“Tatakbo ako dun, so 'di ko na kailangan kumuha ng trainer or mag-enroll sa isang gym 'cause I can just go to Victoria Park and workout.
“Sobrang tipid and at the same time outdoor, so you won't feel congested.”
It's no surprise that London is one of the world's capitals of culture. The city itself boasts of free attractions for tourists to explore, including many of the city's wonderful museums.
And as an art aficionado, Glaiza said to take time to visit some of the best free museums the city has to offer.
She said, “Before I went to Victoria and Albert Museum but this time around Stanley Kubrick had an exhibition sa may Design Museum.”
“I also went to Tate Britain and Tate Modern. Kasi last time nagpunta na ako sa Tate Modern so this time sa Tate Britain ako pumunta and it's more of classic paintings and artworks.”

As a musician, Glaiza made sure to explore and expand her music collection by visiting some of London's independent vinyl shops.
“East London is the perfect place for records,” she recommends.
“They have places like Bricklane, Shoreditch, and Hackney where its full of record shops from end to end.
“It used to be known as a rough area, pero now home na siya ng mga independent artists, stores, and cafes.
“So na-enjoy ko 'yung mga quirky stores and shops dun.”
London has several distinct shopping areas and streets, many of which have their own themes and specialties. But for the Kapuso actress, nothing beats taking a trip down Oxford street.
“Well 'yung mga commercial shops nasa Oxford Street talaga.
“So kung mahilig ka sa shopping, dun magsasawa ka kasi lahat ng shops, dala-dalawa, tatlo-tatlo nandun”
But for those who crave for some alternative clothing like Glaiza, the ideal shopping destination is East London.
“If you like going to vintage shops, nasa Brick Lane lahat -- nasa may Shoreditch area.
“May malaking vintage store dun na natuwa rin ako at meron mga old records din. 'Yun 'yung mga na-e-enjoy kong stores, 'yung mga shops na hindi nako-commercialize.
