Christian Bautista is sharing the stage with a fresh line-up for the Kapuso concert series titled “The Sweetheart and The Balladeer: Fun Night Only.” Does the Asia's Romantic Balladeer feel any threat by the rise of new and younger singers?

Aside from having Julie Anne San Jose, who has always been his consistent partner at the concert scene, Christian will also share the stage with the funny tandem of Donita Nose and Tekla, and Golden Cañedo for the Iloilo leg.

During their press conference, Christian claimed he doesn't mind working with newbies.

“What we have to do now is to help these guys. Bring them to the next level, bring them to all over the world so the other people can see how great they are,” Christian said.

He feels no intimidation of being sidelined and that people shouldn't see the coming of new singers as a threat.

Christian explained, “Paano mo mase-share 'yung stage and the spotlight to highlight all of you. Hindi ko naman pwedeng sabihin, 'hindi, dapat sa akin lang.' It will not be beneficial para sa show, para sa other artists, or para sa channel because I was once a beginner as well. I was in a contest as well.”

Donita also noted how Christian has made a name for himself and how he has made a great contribution to the music scene which no one can take away from him.

“Pati si Christian siguro marami na siyang napatunayan. Hindi na 'yun mawawala siguro sa mapa ng mga tao, 'yung mga paniniwala nila, 'yung humahanga sa kanya. Kung meron mang dumating na bagong magaling na singer, 'yung humahanga sa kanya pwedeng humanga din doon pero hindi siya mawawala,” the comedian explained.

“The Sweetheart and The Balladeer” will kick off at the Iloilo Convention Center, Mandurriao, Iloilo City on January 2. Its second leg will happen at The Atrium, Limketkai Center, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro on February 10.
