Many netizens were unimpressed with Jimmy’s appointment, that is why the singer took to Twitter on July 11 to explain his side.

Popular singer and staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, Jimmy Bondoc, was appointed as the new AVP for Entertainment in the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Many netizens were unimpressed with Jimmy’s appointment, that is why the singer took to Twitter yesterday, July 11 to explain his side on the matter.

Jimmy is a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University and he finished with a degree of AB Communications in 1997.

According to the singer's official statement, he doesn’t mind if people question his credentials as the newly-appointed PAGCOR AVP, but he wants to assure the people that he has what it takes to take on the position. Moreover, the OPM star expressed his willingness to learn more at PAGCOR in the coming years.

Jimmy also stressed that he will never use his new position in the government to get rich and the only thing he wants is to make the lives of the future generation a lot better.

Finally, the singer also expressed his excitement over his plans for PAGCOR and he also mentioned that he hopes he could give job opportunities for his fellow musicians and artists.

It was also announced last week that singer/comedian Arnell Ignacio will become the AVP for Community Relation and Services Department of the said government-controlled corporation.
