Kris Bernal's social media accounts were recently hacked which caused her a lot of distress.

As of now, Kris is happy to announce that she at least has her Instagram account back.

In a series of Instagram posts, Kris took time to reflect on what happened and thanked everyone who helped her.

Good day all, It's finally me, Kris B, talking to you in my own personal account. The past few days had been so chaotic for me, especially how my personal life has been risked in danger because of cyberhackers. Good news to everyone that I finally got back my Instagram account after 3 tedious attempts. When I thought I got it back already, the hackers kept on accessing it that I get security codes non-stop even if I'm not doing anything. They attack during 2AM-6AM when I'm supposed to be asleep and is most vulnerable. The first time GMA helped me to retrieve it, the hacker still kept on coming back, sending me messages and calling me on whatsapp, until I secured it. My bf asked me to vlog about it at the moment so I can warn my followers immediately, in case the hacker uses my account to get money etc. The vlog I posted was as real and raw as it is, as I became so emotional thinking about the consequences of the situation. 😔 (1/3) *to be continued*

I want to take a moment to thank all the people who tried to help me, suggested experts to contact, gave encouraging words, and even those who tried to fight the hacker. There are people who messaged the hacker even if it's risking danger upon them as well, random people who were also willing to pay the hacker. I also appreciate my celebrity friends who tried to reach out. And of course, to my home network, GMA, for all the help. Without GMA's immediate actions, I wouldn't be speaking with you guys anymore here. There will be no chance I can get what I have lost. Because of this incident, I did realize how important and appreciated I am to some people. I go by my day everyday not seeing how I truly matter to the people around me. And I am really grateful for all of this support. 🙏🏼 (2/3) *to be continued*

Overall, I feel like a whole new person here in social media. My personal Email and Twitter account are still not retrieved. Hindi ko pa alam kung paano maibabalik. For now, I'm happy that my Instagram account is back in my hands, and I hope it never gets intruded again. Gusto ko lang i-share ang naging experience ko not to make this a big deal or a national issue, but for everyone to be vigilant and cautious on what we put out here on social media. This has been an extension of ourselves and it should be a safe place for all to enjoy. Time to move on. Hope to be back to regular and safe programming the soonest! Now, Kris hopes to return to her "regular social media programming" after this hacking incident.
