Versatile actress Lotlot de Leon grabbed the attention of netizens in her heartfelt birthday message for her daughter Janine Gutierrez.

The celebrity mom also revealed to the public the one condition she gave to the Kapuso actress before she could enter showbiz.

Lotlot said, “My darling daughter, All my life I have protected you and your siblings, made sure you were far from the limelight because I didn’t want you to go through all the criticisms that an artist/family of actors go through..I wanted you to have a “normal life” as a kid should have and finish your studies..6 years ago after you graduated you told me you wanted to try the business and I was hesitant. I was scared for you. I didn’t want you to get hurt. Yun ang unang pumasok sa isip ko..siempre may mga papuri pero paano kung masaktan ka din..But I saw in your eyes the eagerness, the willingness to learn.”

She also added that being Janine’s manager is her way to better protect her and instill in her the value of hard work.

“On one condition that I manage you..because I felt that if I was there beside you, guiding you, it will be easier. I can look out for you. Pag dating sa usapang trabaho, I was your manager first and set aside being your mom. Being your first critic before anyone else. I would tell you to always take your job seriously, ilagay mo sa puso mo.”

Lotlot admitted that she had to be tough on her daughter at times, but she is super proud of how well she has done in her chosen career as an actress.

“I know there were times that maybe you longed for my approval for some projects that you made but instead I pressured you to become better. I had to be tough with you. Kase mas gusto ko na sa akin mo marinig ng diretso what you needed to know..without sugar coating anything.”

“Now anak, I see it. All the hard work, the love you have for your chosen craft and I would like you to know how proud I am of you. How you’ve grown to love your work. How you’ve also achieved so much. You have nominations already and even won an acting award!" 

Finally, she encouraged Janine to follow her dreams and she is in good hands with her new manager.

“So babe, I wish you nothing but the best and just keep on following your dreams! You’re a beautiful person inside out. Now with Leo by your side, and me going back to being your mom, I know that there will be greater things in store for you..Fly high baby girl! I love you! Happy happy birthday! ?”
