
Aside from Philippine bet Catriona Gray, Miss Spain Angela Ponce also made headlines being the first transgender woman to join the Miss Universe pageant.

Though Angela failed to make it to the semi-finals, the beauty queen still received a standing ovation during the coronation night and just like Filipinos, she celebrated Catriona's win.
In her Twitter, Angela posted her photo with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona and wrote, "Yes I am [a] happy sister @catrionaelisa. Congrats, Philippines, our new #MissUniverse."

She also attested to Catriona's positive attitude in her social media post. Angela added, "She is beautiful, she is a very kind girl I'm very happy for you, Cat. I love you, Philippines and all my fans [who] always support me."
Even before the pageant started, Catriona said she's in favor of a transgender woman joining Miss Universe.
