While many are aware that Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica had long been engaged, their union appeared to be unexpected when it finally happened on December 11. In an interview with Nelson Canlas and GMANetwork.com, the Kapuso actress revealed more about the events leading to her dream wedding that took her only three weeks to organize.

Kylie and Aljur's love story had its fair share of tests and challenges. But beyond winning over the odds, what makes their union special is that they were able to bring together their families for the celebration.

“Itong wedding na 'to 'yung totoong date was November 11 but hindi ko na-plan… and then i-move sana namin ng February pero sabi ko, 'Kaso wala na 'yung family ko.' Gusto ko talaga 'yung family namin nandito,” Kylie revealed.

“Hindi ko kayang ikasal nang wala 'yung family ko, as in 'yung family ko na 'yung mga kapatid ko, my mom and of course his side. I don't think I'll feel as happy kung wala sila doon. So pinauwi ko talaga sila, 'Please come home.' And it's been a while since nakumpleto kami,” she also said in a separate interview with GMANetwork.com.

After rough episodes between their families, almost resembling the story from which her bridal song came from - Romeo and Juliet, Kylie is happy and at peace that all parties have reconciled.

“'Yun ang pinakagusto ko sa love story namin, nagkaayos lahat at nagkasama lahat, no matter, whatever happened,” she said.

“That's why I said love keeps saving me kasi nauwi pa rin ako sa may family ako and kaming dalawa pa rin,” Kylie also stated.
