If you think you’ve had enough of those white, chinito guys gracing your television sets, then it’s time for you to take another look at your primetime characters as Ram Revilla makes his way into your hearts. A promising star with a disarming smile, teasing eyes and oodles of charm, Ram takes his first major step to following in his father's path. stars Ram’s entry to the industry was ushered by a confession to his father, Ramon Revilla Sr.. “Sinabi ko sa dad ko na, ‘Dad, gusto kong sumunod sa yapak mo’” he discloses to iGMA during an interview on the set of Kamandag. “Sabi ko kahit wala akong sweldo basta nagta-trabaho ako, okay lang” he adds. It was not long before the young man found himself appearing in several shows for the Kapuso network like Sis and SOP. He also participated in various Imus Productions projects for the big screen like Anak ng Tatay Mo, Exodus and most recently, Resiklo, with brother actor-turned-senator Bong Revilla Jr. But with renowned actors for a father and a brother, does Ram not feel pressured? “Sa akin, wala” he admits with a smile. Instead, Ram reveals he uses their kinship to his advantage as he seeks their advice in terms of what he should do on and off camera. “Laging sinasabi sa’kin nila Daddy at Kuya na natural ang pag-arte. ‘Wag stiff, kasi dati medyo stiff [ako]. Dumating on time. Then, memorize your lines; bago dumating ang taping dapat yung script mo nabasa mo na para laging prepared” he shares. stars First Primetime Ready for the entertainment world’s challenges, Ram now enjoys his stint in the top-rating telefantasya series in the Kapuso network, Carlo J. Caparas’ Kamandag. “[This is] my first soap [at] first show sa GMA” Ram says. In Kamandag, he plays Harn, the cousin of Jenny (Jewel Mische) and the city boy best friend of Lucero (Mark Anthony Fernandez). Fun and laidback, Ram says Harn’s character is pretty much like him in real life. “Medyo good boy na may pagka-bad boy siya. Parang ano [nga] eh, kuhang-kuha. Parang natural nga lang sa’kin eh, parang hindi ako umaarte” he jests. Ram still considers himself a neophyte in showbiz, but he claims to be enjoying every minute of it – especially with his co-stars in Kamandag. “Actually naging sobrang close na kami dto. Para kaming pamilya na. Kahit wala pang taping nagkikita-kita kami” he shares. Looking Forward stars Inspired by the respect his family has earned in the entertainment industry, Ram is motivated to make a name for himself and bring more glory to the Revilla clan, especially now that he is with GMA. “Mas gagalingan [ko pa] at mas ipapakita ko ‘yung talents ko” he assures. “Work ko [ito] pero ine-enjoy ko lang.
