What many people look forward to during Noche Buena are the delicious home-cooked dishes prepared by their loved ones. So, make this coming Noche Buena memorable and extra special by cooking up a filling Christmas dish such as the Chicken Galantina.

If you're not familiar with it yet, Chicken Galantina is basically stuffed chicken with sauce. It may seem intimidating at first because of the many ingredients and steps involved, but Kapuso hottie Chef Jose Sarasola says it'll all be worth it.

“Yes, medyo matrabaho and maraming kailangang gawin for the Galantina. Pero ang tip ko is always prepare ahead. Chop the ingredients para mas quicker yung cooking process narin.

“(At the) end of the day, it's cooked for our loved ones naman, so kayang-kaya natin 'yan.”

So, if you're up for the challenge, see the ingredients and procedure in making the Chicken Galantina ala Chef Jose.

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Marinate deboned chicken in soy sauce and lemon juice for 30 minutes to one hour.
  2. For the chicken stuffing, put the following ingredients in a bowl and mix well: ground pork, ham, Vienna sausage, red bell pepper, carrots, onions, raisins, pickles, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Put half of the stuffing inside the chicken.
  4. Add two hard-boiled eggs and chorizo inside the chicken.
  5. Close the holes in the chicken using toothpicks.
  6. Steam the chicken for one hour and a half.
  7. Put in pineapple juice, pineapple chunks, soy sauce, and brown sugar in a saucepan and thicken the sauce.
  8. Slice the steamed chicken and add sauce.
