Level-up your favorite canned sardines with Gladys Guevarra's quick and easy recipe.

Canned sardines is a staple food in most Filipino households. It's affordable and easy-to-prepare, that's why it has become a go-to food for those who need a quick meal.

Kapuso comedienne Gladys Guevarra showed how to upgrade canned sardines in a recent episode of Mars Pa More by sharing her fried sardines recipe.

If you want to try this recipe, you'll need the following ingredients:

canned sardines
calamansi
garlic
onion
salt
pepper
oyster sauce

And here are the ten steps to cooking Fried Sardines:

1. Separate the sardines from the sauce.
2. Cut each of them into halves and debone them.
3. Add calamansi juice.
4. Season with salt and pepper then set aside.
5. Fry the marinated sardines.
6. Add calamansi, salt, and pepper to the sauce.
7. Sauté garlic and onion.
8. Add the sardine's sauce.
9. Add 2 tbsp. of oyster sauce
10. Combine the fried sardines and sauce then serve.
