Here's a quick recipe for making Leche Flan in a microwave.

Leche flan is one of the favorite desserts when it comes to Filipino fiestas. But did you know you can make it in a microwave?

In a YouTube video, food blogger Ddulgi shared her recipe for microwaved pudding which is very similar to Leche Flan.

She says that the recipe is simple but you might have to try a few times before you get it perfect. This is because microwaves perform differently based on settings of power or electric voltage, making the results unpredictable.

"I tried this recipe about 10 times for getting a satisfying result. Recipe is simple. but It's hard to get the hang of how long to cook. I recommend you have to check at 1 minute 20~30 seconds for preventing overcook. and you also check with your eyes rather than recipe time, because every microwave is not same performance," she wrote on the description of her video.

Ddulgi also recommends using a wide mug, instead of a tall or narrow mug. She also advises against using glass mugs as they might break.

Ingredients
1 egg
2 tablespoons sugar
100 ml of milk

For caramel
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon water

Procedure
1. Make caramel in a mug by combining 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon water and microwaving for 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Add 1 teaspoon of water after taking out of the microwave.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
3. Add 100 ml of milk and whisk.
4. Strain into the mug with the prepared caramel.
5. Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
6. Cover with foil and let the residual heat cook it further.
7. Leave for 30 minutes at room temperature.
8. Refrigerate for 8 hours.
9. Serve by upturning the mug on a plate.
