nilarang na bakasi

Love exotic food? Cop this Cebuano moray eel recipe from 'Pinas Sarap.'

Pinas Sarap host Kara David is known to be always game for any kind of adventure, especially when it comes to food.

In a recent episode of Pinas Sarap, Kara tried a local dish in Cordova, Cebu called Nilarang na Bakasi

Bakasi is the Cebuano term for moray eels. Although it's considered as exotic food for city dwellers, Cebuanos, especially those who live in coastal towns, have long enjoyed this tasty seafood delicacy.

Kara visited Entong's Bakasihan, which is one of the pioneer bakasi dining spots in Cordova, and the daughter of its founder, Ginalyn Escabas-Tura, shared their heirloom recipe for Nilarang na Bakasi with Kara.

If you want to re-create this exotic moray eel dish, see the recipe below.
