The girl group's agency SM Entertainment confirmed the news of Joy's solo project on May 12.
Soompi reported a source from SM Entertainment told Newsen Media, “Joy is preparing to release a remake album. We will announce the detailed plans soon.”
This is Joy's first solo album project after being with Red Velvet since 2014. She is the second member to have a solo album after member Wendy, who came out with her solo mini album "Like Water" in April.
Joy has released songs featured in Korean dramas such as "Introduce Me A Good Person" from Hospital Playlist and "Why Isn't Love Always Easy" from Romance 101.
