A tearful Regine Velasquez finally admitted her relationship with singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid. In a press conference for Pinoy Pop Superstar 3 held at the GMA Network studio this afternoon, she broke her silence and bared her soul to the press regarding this controversial issue. The following is a quote from the Regine during the press conference: “First of all nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng press na naging mabait sa akin, the truth is I am happy, I am really happy that finally it is out. I am scared because of what people would say and I am also scared that I will be judged again and sa tanda ko po sa industriya, marami na rin po akong pinagdaanan and the thing is, this relationship is really very important to me, this is the only relationship that I have and will ever have hopefully, and the reason why I am scared is because, di ba usually pag inaamin parang naji-jinx. Parang natatakot na kami ni Ogie, so ipagpasensya nyo na po kung naging emotional ang hapon na ito. Kasi po talaga lang madami pong pinagdaanan si Ogie, na masasakit na sya lang ang nanduon, hindi ako kasama, as much as I wanted to be there, I can’t, kasi he has to go through it by himself. I am so happy na umamin po sya. Maraming nagtatanong na bakit ngayon lang? Ngayon lang po because, we were protecting a lot of people, and he’s trying to protect his family and he is also trying to protect me, but now that it is already out, I’d like to say thank you to Ogie and that I love him very very much. That’s all.” A resounding applause came after this announcement and she continued to thank everybody for understanding her and Ogie.
