Musicians TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan marked the fourth anniversary of their first wedding last month.
It has been a year since "Palagi" hitmaker TJ Monterde and Kapamilya singer KZ Tandingan walked down the aisle for the second time.
Like many couples during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Monterdes had to dramatically scale down their wedding, which was held at The Farm at San Benito in Batangas to follow the strict health protocol being implemented by the government then.
TJ took to Instagram to look back on his second wedding and shared with his followers the ceremony was organized for their parents.
He recalled, “August of last year, nung 3rd anniversary namin, nagpakasal kami for the second time. May mga nagtatanong -- bakit?
“Well, all for one reason, that intimate wedding was arranged and held for both our families, especially our parents. Wala kasi sila nung unang kasal namin due to the pandemic, hindi sila maka attend kasi walang flights. Since then, KZ and I promised each other to give our parents the chance to walk us to the altar since parehas kaming panganay, para ma experience din nilang mahatid ang mga panganay nila sa altar.”
He added that they made sure every detail of their second wedding revolved around what their parents liked, too.
“Almost everything in that wedding revolved around them -- the theme, the food, the music, kung anong tingin namin magugustuhan nila, yun pinili namin.” TJ noted.
“And the vows? ok na kami eh, nag vow na kami sa isa't isa nung first wedding namin. Yun na yun. So, nung second wedding, we made a vow to each other's parents -- I promised her parents that I'll take care of her, she did the same to mine.
“Nakakabilib din talaga si KZ, kung gano n'ya kamahal magulang nya, ganon na ganon din s'ya sa parents ko. blessing yun.
TJ proposed to KZ in December 2019.
