Juancho Trivino and Joyce Pring

Juancho Trivino and Joyce Pring share that they postponed their trip to the US due to the pandemic.

“We were supposed to be in the States for our honeymoon.”

This is what Juancho Trivino and Joyce Pring revealed to GMANetwork.com in an exclusive interview through video call yesterday, April 22.

According to the couple, they were already booked for the trip to the US but had to scrap the plans due to the enhanced community quarantine and the coronavirus pandemic.

“Parang pinag-uusapan din naman when this whole thing started, this quarantine in itself is a honeymoon for us,” Juancho claims.

“Kasi siyempre hindi kami nagtatrabaho, lahat naman tayo 'di ba?

“So nung hindi pa nagse-settle in 'yung worry, 'yun yung bright side ng situation na naiisip ko. Parang, 'Uy! 'Di na tayo gagastos masyado kasi nandito lang tayo.'

“That's the bright side of the COVID situation.

“We get to know each other more, we get to talk a lot, and we get to do a lot of things together nung single pa lang kaming dalawa.”

On the other hand, his wife Joyce couldn't help but look back at the many hurdles they had to face at the start of the year in terms of their relationship.

“I think my best friend and I we're talking about it the other day. We were saying na parang fast-paced lahat sa relationship namin.

“Juancho and I were together for seven months and then we were engaged. After a couple of months, we were married.

“And then, just a few weeks after ng wedding, ito na naman. And even before we got married, meron kaming worry about Taal, transferring everything for two weeks. Ngayon naman may ganito.”

It can be recalled that Juancho and Joyce had to move their Christian wedding from Tagaytay to the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila following the events of the Taal Volcano eruption.

In Joyce's perspective, these little “hurdles” define their relationship and solidify their union as a couple.

“I think it's also a blessing.

“Sometimes a relationship is not about how long you guys are together but the kind of things you go through as a couple.

“And itong mga pinagdadaanan namin, naging testament siya ng grace ni God sa buhay namin and natututunan namin na alagaan at mahalin ang isa't isa even in situations that are difficult and 'yun yung effect niya sa marriage namin.”

Baby plans?

So when asked what's the first thing they'll do once the coronavirus pandemic has officially died down and everybody settled in?

“Magka-baby! Joke!” Joyce exclaims.

“Sabi namin parang 'di pa tayo pwede magka-baby ngayon kasi siyempre unsure pa ang lahat, nakakatakot. Pero joke lang 'yun.”

In all seriousness, Juancho simply wanted to make his honeymoon trip to the States and excitedly watch Miami Heat in action with his wife.

“Para sa akin, one of the things na I'm looking forward to is to make that trip.

“Siyempre, right after na mag-settle in lahat ng bagay na maging, kahit papaano, close to normal.

“Makapagtrabaho na kami, makita namin ang lahat ng mga mahal namin sa buhay and make sure that they're all alright.

“And then, we'll go to the States and watch, heh, Miami Heat!”

For Joyce it's simply to go watch a movie and go to church--two things she deemed as her luxuries in life.

“Ako sobrang simple lang, I miss watching a movie in the cinema and I miss going to church. 'Yun yung kasing dalawang bagay na ginagawa ko before that I really, really enjoyed.

“'Yun din travel siyempre pero hindi ako ma-materyal na bagay e.

“So ang nag-iisang luho ko before is nakakapag-movie ako 'pag mayroon akong gustong panoorin na movie. Iba yung feeling na nasa cinema ka talaga at pinapanood mo siya sa large screen.

“So that's one thing that I really miss na I feel like una naming gagawin 'pag pwede na ulit.”
