Tom Rodriguez: "For sure, there will be compromises along the way but..."
Ilang celebrity moms ang nag-lie low sa showbiz matapos nilang isilang ang kanilang mga anak para matutukan ang mga ito ngayong may pandemya.
Kabilang diyan sina Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff, at Luane Dy na pare-parehong breastfeeding moms.
Eventually, bubuo rin ng sariling pamilya ang newly-engaged couple na sina Carla Abellana at Tom Rodriguez pagkatapos ng kanilang kasal. Kaya tanong ng GMANetwork.com sa virtual media conference ng dalawa, may ile-let go ba sila sa kanilang career ngayong papunta na sila sa bagong yugto ng kanilang buhay.
Sagot ni Carla, "Parang dapat wala kaming dapat i-let go because we have a lot of obligations, work obligations, marami kaming mga responsibilities pa and we have to fulfill all of those."
Inamin ni Carla na marami silang planong gawin ni Tom. Maliban sa pagbuo ng pamilya, nasa bucket list din nila ang pagpapagawa ng sarili nilang bahay pero, aniya, wala naman daw dapat masakripisyo sa kanilang career para matupad ang kanilang goals as a married couple.
Dugtong niya, "Building a home together that would be new once we get married, papasukin namin 'yun together.
"We will incorporate everything pati 'yung wishes ng isa't isa in terms of building a home.
"Of course, parenthood, eventually, building a family. Hopefully, it doesn't get to the point that we have to sacrifice much of work to be able to build a family together, but that's natural.
"Do'n naman din pupunta so, definitely, madami pang papasukin at haharapin together."
Sa palagay naman ni Tom, kaya naman ma-achieve ang kahit anong plano. Kailangan lang ng compromise sa buhay mag-asawa.
Sabi niya, "For sure, there will be compromises along the way but, in a marriage, you're supposed to get in there already complete.
"Kumbaga it's not that you're going at your 50 percent and hoping to get the other 50 percent from your partner. Inherently, dapat you, guys, both at your best together to build something even better.
"So, hopefully, we'll try to compromise and really meet in the middle and grow together as a couple in this new chapter of our lives."
October 18, 2020 nang mag-propose si Tom kay Carla sa bahay ng pamilya ng aktres matapos ang kanilang six-year relationship.
Ayon sa Kapuso couple, plano nilang idaos ang kanilang classic-themed wedding ngayong taon kapag bumuti ang sitwasyon.
