Miss Universe 1994 and Bollywood superstar Sushmita Sen on Thursday confirmed her split from former live-in partner Rohman Shawl who was 16 years her junior following their 3-year relationship.
Unlike most break-ups that end nasty, Sushmita took the high road and announced her separation from her ex in a calm, collected and peaceful manner.
"We began as friends, we remain friends!! The relationship was long over, the love remains," she said in an Instagram post.
She sealed her post with capping hashtags "#nomorespeculations," "#liveandletlive" "#cherishedmemories," "#gratitude," "#love" and "friendship."
She followed it with a self-loving post, "peace is beautiful."
Sushmita and Rohman started dating each other sometime in 2018. Even then, the two did not shy away showing off their budding romance on social media and interviews.
Evidently, there are still some photos of them together left visible on Sushmita's profile.
The two however unfollowed each other on Instagram thereby sparking rumors that the two might have called it quits.
Apart from the beautiful relationship he had with Sushmita, Rohman also created a beautiful bond with the former beauty queen's daughters Renee and Alisah.
Sushmita is hands down one of the most well-loved Miss Universe winners of Filipinos. Having been crowned on that fateful night in Manila, Sushmita made history as the first woman to ever win the title for her home country India. She was then 18.
In her past interview on Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, Sushmita shared a noteworthy experience and bond she had with then Philippine bet Charlene Gonzales.
It was also in the same interview when she said signs she prayed for told her she was going to win.
