Kris Aquino admits breakup with her fiancé Mel Sarmiento.

The Queen of All Media ended speculations about her relationship with the former Interior Secretary in an Instagram post on Monday night, January 3.

"Sa pinagdadanan ko ngayon, sino ba namang tao ang gusto pagusapan pa ang kanyang paghihiwalay?" Kris wrote after describing her current health condition.

She added, "But in order for me to be able to peacefully move on, and focus on myself and my health, BECAUSE my sons still need me, Kuya Josh has autism, and Bimb will only turn 18 in 3 years, 3 months and 16 days, I must end this chapter."

The 50-year-old celebrity mom then showed the last message she received from her now ex-fiancé.

She said, “I will just post screenshots of Mel's last text message to me. After that you will never read or hear anything at all about him from me, because I still want to preserve whatever dignity I have left.”

On his last message to Kris, Mel reasoned COVID-19 and how it would be a threat on Kris's health condition.

He said, ""For the past two days, I had enough time to think about things and accepted the fact that ensuring you don't get Covid is an enormous responsibility.

"Given my nature who loves to go out, I have accepted the fact that I already have a bubble fatigue, and I will not be able to, sad to say, be able to continue living in a bubble."

Then, he said, "On that note, I have accepted your offer of letting me go. For I cannot in conscience be able to accept that something will happen to you brought about by my going out of the bubble."

Despite their short engagement, Mel told Kris, "I will always in my heart cherish the moments we had together. I do love you but I guess this is goodbye for your life is of greatest importance given that you have Josh and Bimby to take care of. You will forever be in my heart."

Kris revealed her engagement to Mel in October 2021.

Kris, on the other hand, asked for privacy after revealing the reason of her breakup with Mel.

She said, "By doing this, I only request for some respect for my humanity & privacy now and in the coming months when I fight for my health... because I was BRAVE enough to show you and tell you the TRUTH

Health update

On the same post, Kris updated her followers about her health condition.

She said, "My health has continued to deteriorate, and I will soo fly abroad for further diagnostic tests and if needed do all the tests and procedures needed to address my drastic weight loss (I now weigh 88 lbs/40 kilos) and if possible strengthen my immunity.

"From the last quarter of 2018, I've long known that my autoimmune conditions can only be treated BUT never cured…,"

Kris, who looked frail and vulnerable, also showed that she has undergone various tests.
