The Promise by GMA Films is their sixth project as a love team and by far is the most anticipated because of their love scenes. Adapted from the book
Wuthering Heights, it tells the story of two childhood sweethearts – Daniel (Richard) and Andrea (Angel) -- whose love withstand the test of time despite the difficulties they had to face.

Director Mike Tuviera notes that to help the cast prepare for portrayal of complex characters, they underwent a two-day acting workshop facilitated by multi-awarded actress Ms. Gina Alajar.

iGMA.tv visited Richard and Angel while on location shoot in Tagaytay. In this exclusive interview, they give us a rundown behind the scenes of their latest collaboration and their much talked about love scenes.
Q: What made you decide to venture into more mature roles?
Richard: It’s the perfect time in our career to do something different. As an artist you need growth, you need to explore in terms of what you can do. Siguro dito namin na-test kung hanggang saan namin kaya, sa ganitong klaseng pelikula.
Q: What’s the difference between The Promise and the movies you’ve made together in the past?
Richard: Yung characters namin dito is more complex than our other characters in previous movies. Mas demanding ‘yung script, in terms of emotions, so iba talaga.
Q: How did you react when you heard that there was a love scene?
Angel: Una, kinabahan, it’s our first love scene together. Binasa muna namin ‘yung script. Ang ganda ng pagkakasulat, kaya pumayag din kami. Parang, sige try natin ‘tong pelikulang ‘to, ‘tong level na to para din ma-iba. We wanted to show (the audience) something new.
Q: Tell us something about the love scenes.
Angel: Both love scenes were filmed in Bolinao. ‘Yung una mas bata ‘yung dating, parang first-time, so ‘yung attack dun was parang kabado. The second one was more mature so, it was more passionate.
Q: How did you prepare for it?
Angel: Kami ni Chard, hindi na namin napag-uusapan eh. Pag tahimik na kami alam naming kinakabahan na kami pareho.

Richard: Pag nagkaroon ng medyo awkward moment, someone will make sure na maging light ulit ‘yung conversation.
What does Direk Mike have to say on how the two young stars handled the scene? “Since the two have been a love team for a couple of years now, they were very comfortable with each other so when they did the love scene it just came out naturally.”
