Actor, athlete, and lawmaker Richard Gomez paid tribute to his mom Stella Suarez today, January 19, who is celebrating her 81st birthday.
The incumbent congressman of the 4th district of Leyte posted a carousel of old photos with his mom and then wrote in the caption how much he loves her.
“Happy 81st Birthday to a woman who truly defines what it means to age with grace and fire!” Richard posted on IG.
He then continued, “It is a joy to watch you move through life with so much energy. I can see that your calendar is always full, and your heart is always open to the friends and family who adore you.
“You have this incredible gift of natural charm and charisma that draws people to you the moment you walk into a room.”
Richard then declared that he is so proud to be called her son.
“I am so proud to be your son and to witness the vibrant life you continue to build every single day. I want you to know how much I love you.
“As you celebrate this milestone, please promise me you'll take wonderful care of your health so you can share many more beautiful moments with your family and friends and your dogs and cats.
“Your well-being means the world to me. I hope to see you very soon. But until then, enjoy every second of your special day! Happy birthday, Mom!”
Aside from Richard, Stella also has another daughter named Stella Suarez Jr., a.k.a. Pinky Suarez.
Last December 2025, Richard won the silver medal for Team Philippines together with Carlo Martinez-Baltonado and Jed Rivilla in the sporting clays competition at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
